When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

We store your name and email address when you contact us so that we can reply to your messages. Your correspondence remains confidential and your personal data will never be sold or passed on to any third party.

Who we share your data with

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

We may share some personally identifiable information with Google for the purposes of statistical analysis and to serve personalised advertising. Visit your Google account settings to disable ad tracking.

With your explicit consent, we may share your details with a credit reference agency. This is to verify your identity and assess your credit worthiness before opening a personal or business credit account.

We may also share your details with TaxiCaller Nordic AB for the purposes of booking taxi services.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Contact forms are stored for 6 months to allow for dispute resolution.

Account details are stored until they are either deleted by the user or have been inactive for 2 years

Anonymised analytics records are kept indefinitely to enable us to compare results in a statistically meaningful way.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. In the event of a data breach we will inform all registered users and customers about the nature of the breach, along with details of what we are doing about it and what steps you need to take. Any data breaches will be reported to the relevant authorities.

What third parties we receive data from

We receive data from TaxiCaller Nordic AB. This is for the purposes of dispatching a taxi to your location. It may include personally identifiable data such as name, address, email and phone number. This data is encrypted and can be anonymised upon request.

TaxiCaller will not share any personally identifiable information with other parties except as regarding the companies using the service to provide transportation services.

We use your data to automatically dispatch taxis using the TaxiCaller system.

Industry regulatory disclosure requirements

Coastal Transport are regulated by Hastings Borough Council. Detailed booking records that may contain personally identifiable data are required to be kept under Section 56(2) of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976. These records must be kept for a minimum of 6 months. They can be inspected by any authorised officer of the council.
